Howdy yall,
Lots of talk about items that we can use! Like blocks, physics, and weapons. However, I think that it is a very, very necessary component to have useless components, and useless items. These items can be used for decoration and RP, but otherwise, serve very little purpose to the game. Here are a list of things that don’t serve an active purpose, but would be great for decoration:
– Bottle & Bottle Effects. Normal bottles with stuff inside them, like a pirate ship, a pickle, butterflies, notes, and more could serve a lovely decoration to have in the home. However, having effect bottles would also be great. Like a flame effect, when the thing inside the bottle is eternally on fire. Or inside of a frost bottle, it’s unnaturally blue.
– Flag dimensions. Unlike other flags, it would be cool to be able to customize a flag with your own personal dimensions. Imagine sitting down at a sewing machine, and then turning material into a flag with a PNG. These flags should probably interact with the wind, or at least appear to be doing so.
– Spray Paint! Like CS:GO being able to spray paint an already established design by using an image on google would be great. Obviously, this can be abused, but the purpose would stand very well for the game. Using an image for muddy footprints on the floor, or perhaps just hanging a picture just by using a spray paint that’s saved to your own personal folder. (Like ARK’s paint system.)
– Winter Shovels! Colorful ones, old ones, metal ones, just having a shovel around for show would give a lot of spice to a modern world.
– Music Boxes! Twist, play, and maybe even use it as a context clue to solve a mystery, or perhaps even just use it to set a scene.
Overall, I think useless but colorful items will add a lot to the game. What useless items would you like to see hit Hytale?
