r/HytaleInfo – Addressing Kweebec Corner’s Recent Video on the Alterverse

To start things off, I’m really loving all the content from both Kweebec Corner and the various other Hytale channels! We’ve built such an incredibly kind, focussed and friendly community which is quite rare in today’s gaming world. As a larger advocate for Hytale, it’s great to see so many others rallied to the same cause!

In saying this, I have of course watched many videos, including Connor’s most recent one on the Hytale Alterverse (which if you haven’t already, GO CHECK IT OUT! https://youtu.be/PbR9jwOVnEM ). As always, I really loved the vid and there were many great points on how they could possibly work, and what more could be tied in.

For quite a while, I have been really interested in the alterverse, as it adds a level of exploration that we really haven’t quite seen in any other 3D voxel game cough minecraft. I for one am most excited about the adventure mode and I know I’m not alone there. The sheer amount of possibilities are really endless, making it the perfect place to introduce aspects like lore and dimensional exploration, which I’ll address in a second.

First, I’d like to expand on lore. Now, Connor brought up many great theories in his video and I have one of my own. In short, I agree with the theories brought forth by many; that each planet is a sort of universe of its own, with them all being connected through various portals. This (like Connor said) would explain more about how these “infinite lands” that we’d all like to hear more about, is there. In saying this, I’d like to take this theory one step further, by tying in some possible lore.

My theory is that originally, there was 1 god/deity in each universe. Each of which, would represent 1 of the elements we see in game. Now, the first few would be fairly obvious: Earth=Gaia Void=Varyn Wind=Karpaks deity Fire=Tor’Balyn’s deity (which, side note, “Tor’Balyn” makes me feel like some dude with a heavy Scottish accent named lol. I dare you to try say it in a Scottish accent, it sounds perfect😂)

All jokes aside, this still leaves us with 2. While it’s not that difficult to understand, I believe Orbis represents the water element, therefore leaving us with only 1; Lightning. While I have many ideas for this element (largely linking to Zeus) I would love to hear other opinions on the matter.

Going back to my proposed storyline, I believe that every one of those gods rained over their universe (another side note, I feel that we should start referring to these as “planítes” to stick with the many references to greek mythology and culture).

After a while, Varyn (the god of void) quite literally had a void in his life. He felt as though he missed out on the joys of plants and the warmth of living, breathing creatures. With this in mind, he set out to find a way that he could learn from the other dimensions that at the time, was just a theory he had formulated.

Seeing it as the only possible solution, he took to dark magic(I’m imagining it as a more powerful version of what we’ve seen in game). This was the point where he turned evil, as the dark magic corrupted and tormented him over time. After finally figuring out the solution to travelling between planítes (which were portals forged from dark magic), he successfully travelled to the planíti of Karpak. It was there that he discovered many unique creatures. Seeing how great these animals lived, he set out to replicate his own versions of many.

Once again, he did so, using dark magic. Long story short, each animal he replicated with dark magic ended up turning corrupted and becoming vicious creatures. Over a series of 70 yearlings (what I’m dubbing decades, because I can lol), the dark magic inside Varyn would continue to grow his dark army. just wanted to point out that we do see many animals in orbis that resemble other animals (just scarier). For instance, the void spider and outlanders

After a while, the gods realised the dangers of Varyns creatures and declared war against him. At this point, Varyn was completely corrupted by the dark inside him and had grown his army so large, that it simply could not be defeated. After killing Poseidon (the theoretical god of Orbis), Gaia (who only wanted peace), decided peace was no longer an option and in her dying breath, banished Varyn back to his home Planítis.

All those statues of Gaia that we see could simply be marks to remember her as the one who ultimately stopped Varyns rein. I also think the mix of different elements in orbis are because Varyn brought a little portion of each plaíti he conquered with him, before his final duel in Orbis.

Also, the whole scaraks enslaving ferans thing, could be that scaraks are just corrupted versions of beings from Karpak, who Gaia saved ferans from too.

FULL DISCLOSURE: I don’t mind this theory being used or mentioned in any video or post, though I would very much appreciate you sending me the link to it through discord (MoodyMagicMaple), as I’d love to hear your thoughts on the theory.

Congrats if you made it this far, sorry for it being so long😅
